Privacy Policy
DFS Kitchen LLC ("we," "us," or "the Kitchen") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what personal information we collect when you use our website at dfskitchen.com (the "Site") and our DFSK Optimizer subscription service (the "Service"), how we use that information, and the choices you have.
1.Who we are
The Site and the Service are operated by DFS Kitchen LLC, a Florida limited liability company. References to "we," "us," or "our" mean DFS Kitchen LLC. You can reach us at support@dfskitchen.com.
This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through the Site and the Service. It does not apply to subscriptions you purchase from third-party platforms — for example, the @dfskitchen creator subscription on X (formerly Twitter) is governed by X's privacy policy, not ours.
2.Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored in encrypted form by our identity provider, Memberstack).
- Payment information. When you subscribe, payment card details are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full card number on our servers. We receive only limited information from Stripe, such as the last four digits of your card, card brand, and billing status.
- Profile information. Any display name, preferences, or other details you choose to add to your account.
- Personality test responses. If you take our DFS Personality Test, we may store the resulting persona type to your account so you can see it later. We do not store your individual question-by-question answers.
- Communications. If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of the message so we can respond and keep a support record.
Information collected automatically
- Site usage data. We use Plausible Analytics — a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. Plausible collects aggregated, anonymized data about pageviews, referrer URLs, device type, browser type, and approximate country. You can read Plausible's data policy at plausible.io/data-policy.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Netlify) may automatically log standard request data such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamp for security and operational purposes.
3.How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the Service, including authenticating your account and giving you access to the DFSK Optimizer;
- Process subscription payments and manage your billing through Stripe;
- Respond to your support requests, account issues, and other communications;
- Send you transactional emails (receipts, payment-failure notices, account changes, security alerts);
- Personalize parts of the experience (for example, showing your name on the account page and remembering your DFS Personality Test result);
- Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it (via aggregated, non-personal Plausible data);
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access;
- Comply with our legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for third-party advertising.
4.When we share information
We share personal information only with the service providers we need to run the Service and only as required by law. Specifically:
- Memberstack — handles authentication and member account management. Memberstack's privacy policy.
- Stripe — handles all payment processing and stores your billing information. Stripe's privacy policy.
- Plausible Analytics — provides anonymized site analytics. Does not use cookies. Plausible's privacy policy.
- Google Workspace — provides our business email (support@dfskitchen.com) and customer-support tools. Google's privacy policy.
- Netlify — hosts the Site. Netlify's privacy policy.
- Discord — if you choose to join the DFSK Discord community, you are subject to Discord's privacy policy. We do not transfer your account information to Discord automatically; joining is opt-in via invitation link.
We may also disclose personal information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required to (a) comply with a subpoena, court order, or other applicable law; (b) protect our rights, safety, or property, or the safety of our users or the public; or (c) investigate fraud or security issues. If we are ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, and we will notify you in advance.
5.Cookies and analytics
The Site uses a small number of cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and remember your in-session preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies. We do not run third-party ad networks.
Our analytics provider (Plausible) is intentionally cookie-free. Because we don't use any tracking cookies, we do not display a cookie consent banner — there's nothing for you to consent to. If you'd like to learn more, Plausible has a good plain-English explainer.
6.Your rights and choices
You can exercise the following rights by emailing support@dfskitchen.com at any time. We will respond within 30 days (or sooner if required by your state's law).
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your account and associated personal information. (We may need to retain some records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.)
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Opt out of marketing — we don't currently send marketing emails, but if we ever do, you can unsubscribe at any time.
California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), you have the rights listed above plus the right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and other regions. If you are in a jurisdiction that grants additional privacy rights (such as the right to object to certain processing under the GDPR), you may exercise those rights by emailing us. We rely on legitimate interests and contractual necessity as the legal basis for most processing.
7.Data retention
We retain your account information for as long as your subscription is active. After you cancel, we retain account records for up to seven (7) years for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal-defense purposes, after which the records are deleted or fully anonymized. You may request earlier deletion at any time, subject to the retention exceptions listed above.
8.Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including TLS encryption in transit, password hashing through Memberstack, and PCI-DSS-compliant payment handling through Stripe. No system is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever discover a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
9.Children's privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. If we discover that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a minor has provided personal information to us, please contact support@dfskitchen.com.
10.International visitors
The Service is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the Site or Service from outside the U.S., be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those of your home country.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify active subscribers by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
